After a scoreless first half, the LA Galaxy rallied from behind to defeat Austin FC 4-1 at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday afternoon.
Austin FC's Diego Fagundez broke the deadlock with a goal in the 53rd minute, but the Galaxy were able to quickly respond in the 61st minute with Javier "Chicharito" HernĆ”ndez's goal off some classy service from Dejan JoveljiÄ. The "fox in the box" then put the Galaxy ahead in the 64th minute with a goal of his own and never looked back.
JoveljiÄ scored again late in the match for his first brace of the 2022 MLS season and then served a beautiful bicycle kick assist to EfraĆn Ćlvarez to seal the victory for the LA Galaxy in the 90th minute. JoveljiÄ became the first-ever MLS player to contribute four goals - all within just over a half hour - as a substitute.
Up next, the LA Galaxy will return from the international break on June 18 to host Portland Timbers at Dignity Health Sports Park at 2:00 p.m. in a marquee match on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
