Match Report: LA Galaxy earn victory on the road against New England Revolution

Daniel Aguirre scored his first MLS goal, Riqui Puig made his first MLS start and the LA Galaxy earned 3 points on the road against New England Revolution in a 2-1 victory at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night.

The Galaxy got off to a quick start when a well-placed ball by Javier "Chicharito" Hernández found Daniel Aguirre for his first goal with the LA Galaxy in just the 4th minute of the match. Riqui Puig's first MLS assist was a stunning pass that threaded the needle and fell right at the feet of Chicharito, who finished it for his 12th goal of the season. LA went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Carles Gil brought New England back into the match in the second half with a goal in the 82nd minute and the Galaxy needed to hunker down defensively in 8 minutes of extra time added to the end of the match. They closed the match out strong and walked away with all three points to remain above the playoff line in the Western Conference.
