Continuing its string of preseason exhibitions leading up to the 2016 USL Regular Season kickoff, LA Galaxy II secured a 3-3 tie against UCLA on Saturday with late goals from Jack McBean and LA Galaxy Academy’s Ethan Zubak.
UCLA struck hard early, scoring two goals in the first six minutes. Los Dos found itself down 2-1 at halftime thanks to McBean’s first goal in the 28’ minute. UCLA would add another in the 73’ before McBean slotted his second at 83’ and the Academy sub, Zubak, brought Los Dos level at 87’.
UCLA proved to be Galaxy II’s toughest opponent of the year so far – the Bruins had tied Orange County Blues 1-1 on Feb. 28. Today’s tie extends Galaxy II’s preseason unbeaten streak to five games with a 4-1-0 record.
Los Dos, the 2015 Western Conference Champions, is now three weeks away from its home opener on March 26 against Arizona United SC at StubHub Center. LA Galaxy II single-game tickets are on sale now.
