LA Galaxy II (4-4-2, 14 points) fell 3-0 to Fresno FC (4-1-4, 16 points) snapping their five-game unbeaten stretch at home.
Fresno FC controlled the game from the start, keeping most of the play in Los Dos’ half. The pressure resulted in two goals within the opening 45 minutes. In the 26th minute, LA Galaxy II conceded a penalty kick after an apparent handball from Adrian Vera. Jackson stepped up to the spot for Fresno and converted with a right footed shot to the top left corner. Eight minutes later, Jackson laid one off across the box for Qudus Lawal who volleyed it to the back of Los Dos’ net.
LA Galaxy II almost pulled themselves within one before halftime. Jose Hernandez stole the ball from a Fresno defender and poked it to Ethan Zubak who was running on goal. Zubak curled the ball around goalkeeper CJ Cochran to find the back of the net. However, the offside flag was lifted and the goal was called off. The Galaxy entered halftime down by two.
It didn’t take long for the Foxes to find their third goal of the match. Lawal secured a brace with a goal in the 56th minute assisted by Seth Moses.
Although Los Dos had 11 shots in the second half, none of those shots landing on target, leaving the home side with little in terms of scoring chances.
