LOS ANGELES (Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021) – Entering Week 21 of the USL Championship campaign, LA Galaxy II fought back to level the match late, but ultimately fell 4-3 at home to Phoenix Rising FC at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday night. Rémi Cabral tallied a goal and an assist against Phoenix, while Jonathan Perez notched his first goal of the 2021 campaign for Los Dos.

LA – Rémi Cabral (Preston Judd), 12th minute: Jorge Hernandez released Preston Judd in behind the Phoenix back line. Judd’s first-timed pass to Cabral inside the center of the penalty area was swept in underneath Phoenix goalkeeper Andre Rawls.
PHX – Aodhan Quinn (penalty kick), 21st minute: After a Phoenix player was fouled inside the box, Aodhan Quinn fired his penalty attempt into the bottom corner of the goal.
LA – Jesus Vazquez (Rémi Cabral), 27th minute: Following a failed clearance from a corner kick, Jalen Neal laid the ball off to Cabral, whose cutback pass was redirected into the goal by Jesus Vazquez from close range.
PHX – Kevon Lambert (Aohdan Quinn), 31st minute: Quinn’s corner kick delivery was headed in at the near post by Kevon Lambert.
PHX – Santi Moar, 35th minute: LA Galaxy II goalkeeper Eric López parried away a shot from close range, but the rebound was slotted in by Santi Moar from close range.
LA – Jonathan Perez (Kai Koreniuk), 86th minute: Working down the right flank, Kai Koreniuk’s cross into the top 18-yard found Jonathan Perez, who calmly brought the ball down, took a touch and laced his effort into the top left corner of the goal.
PHX – Jesus Vazquez (own goal), 90+5 Tate Schmitt’s cross from the left wing was redirected into the back of net off the head of Jesus Vazquez in stoppage time.
