LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH MIKE MUÑOZ
On the team’s performance:
“We lost the game in the first 22 minutes. We didn’t come out with the right aggressiveness. We didn’t come out with the right intentions. A good team like Sacramento who’s really confident right now, I don’t think they’ve lost a game since they last played us, punished us. Only after we were down 2-0, 22 minutes in was when our guys finally woke up and responded with a goal. I was really proud of the guys in the second half and the way we responded. But, it was too late.”
On the support from the fans:
“We’re a massive club and we know that we have a massive fan support, not only in this city, but also nationally and globally. Anytime that we have an opportunity to play in front of our fans, there’s an obligation, there’s a responsibility to make sure that you compete to the best when you wear the crest. They’ve been great. I hope that what they see with the second team is youthfulness, excitement, a team and players that are willing to take risks, and understand that this is still the future. A big thanks to all of them.”
On changing the game plan against Swope Park Rangers:
“It’s crucial that we end the season on a high. I believe the first team is off, so we’ll see if they insert some players into our lineup. It’s a big possibility. We want to finish the season with a win because we want to go into the offseason feeling good about what we accomplished and look forward to next year.”
