The LA Galaxy II Midwestern road tour concludes at 3 p.m. PT on Sunday, Oct. 1 in Oklahoma City when Los Dos (7-17-5, 26 points) are in town to take on OKC Energy FC (11-11-7, 40 points) at Taft Stadium (streamed live and for free on LAGalaxy.com/2).
The Galaxy wrap up the long road trip after kicking things off in Sacramento on Sept. 16, followed by a week away from Los Angeles with games in Tulsa on Sept. 23 and Kansas City on Sept. 27. It’s their second trip into Oklahoma in one week, as they look to settle the score against Energy FC.
Energy FC touts one of the Western Conference’s best home records (8-2-3) as they attempt to stay inside the line. Before the weekend, OKC sits in 8th position, three points clear of 9th place Orange County SC. With three games to play, Los Dos sit in 13th place and was eliminated from playoff competition earlier in the week.
In their one meeting this season, the two clubs played to a 1-1 draw at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on July 30. Ariel Lassiter scored in the match, but his effort was undone by a successful penalty kick from Andy Craven in the 75th minute.
LA gave up 3+ goals for the first time in 12 games in their 3-0 loss to Swope Park Rangers on Wednesday, a break in new form for Los Dos. The defense has been the most noticeable improvement for Los Dos in the second half of the season, as the team registered a GAA of 1.3 in their last 13 games, compared to a 2.35 in their first 17.
But the team has hit a bump offensively, getting shutout in their last two games. Ethan Zubak was the last to score for Los Dos, when he tallied one in the first 10 seconds of the Galaxy’s match in Sacramento.
