LOS ANGELES – In partnership with Herbalife, the LA Galaxy and Special Olympics Southern California hosted an exciting team signing day to announce the final roster for its 2025 team at Dignity Health Sports Park on April 2 and a subsequent Media Day on April 10. Signing Day kicked off the 2025 season for the Special Olympics Unified team where athletes will prepare, train, and compete like the pros. The team has access to professional soccer resources such as trainers and sports performance dieticians for the season through the LA Galaxy and Herbalife.

Signing Day began with a welcome from longtime radio broadcaster and voice of the LA Galaxy, Joe Tutino, and LA Galaxy President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Braun. Then, 22 Special Olympics athletes and partners joined General Manager Will Kuntz, Head Coach Greg Vanney, Goalkeeper John McCarthy, and Defender Mauricio Cuevas on stage to officially sign with the team and accept their jerseys in the stadium club. The Special Olympics athletes and partners headed down to the player lounge for a presentation from Herbalife Sports Performance Dieticians on health and wellness, including featured products and how to prepare them. Herbalife Sports Performance Dieticians will create specialized plans and guide the athletes through their training and gameday wellness preparation throughout the season, just as they do for the first team.

The team locker room, complete with full kits and personalized name plates, was unveiled to the athletes and partners in a special moment. The team took two team photos on the field before ending the event, with a catered dinner in the American Express Stadium Club.

On April 10, the LA Galaxy hosted the first ever Media Day for their 2025 LA Galaxy Special Olympics Team presented by Herbalife. In an effort to provide experiences like first-team players, the Special Olympics athletes and partners rotated through various Galaxy Studios photo and video stations to capture content to be used in conjunction with their match days this year. Stations included head shots, goal celebration b-roll, and interviews with Herbalife.

The LA Galaxy Special Olympics Unified Team will compete in a number of games this season including an in-stadium match against the Inter Miami Special Olympics Team on August 16 in Chase Stadium in Miami, FL. Full schedule to come.
