LA Galaxy forwards Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes have been nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 25 for their goals Sunday against Chivas USA.
In the 68th minute, a brilliant effort from Robbie Keane doubled the Galaxy’s score over their LA rivals. Keane first nutmegged Chivas USA’s Jhon Kennedy Hurtado just outside the box before chipping a perfectly-weighted ball over Dan Kennedy for the score.
Zardes’ goal came just three minutes later, as the Galaxy Homegrown Player capped off a fantastic team play from the Galaxy. A combination from Landon Donovan, Baggio Husidic and Keane at the edge of the penalty area saw Keane slip a ball behind the defense to Donovan, who tapped a ball to Zardes in front of a wide open net. It was Zardes 12th goal of the season.
Keane and Zardes go up against Kelyn Rowe (NE), Clint Dempsey (SEA) and Ignacio Piatti (MTL).
