Sergeant Major Gibson enlisted in the Marine Corps twenty-one years ago and began her career as an Air Delivery Specialist (Parachute Rigger). Throughout her time as a Parachute Rigger, some of her many different roles included Joint Air Drop Inspector, Static-line Jumpmaster and Air Delivery Operations Chief.
In 2008, Sergeant Major Gibson attended the High Altitude-Low Opening Parachute Course, becoming the first female Marine to become HALO qualified.
Gibson had multiple deployments which included Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005, the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2011 and 2014, the Black Sea Rotational Force in 2013, and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2016. She also recently returned in support of Marine Rotational Force-Darwin, Australia.
In 2018, Sergeant Major Gibson reported to Marine Combat Training Battalion, School of Infantry-West where she performed her duties as Company First Sergeant for Company G.
Sergeant Major Gibson currently serves as the Battalion Sergeant Major for Combat Logistics Battalion 1.
Some of her awards include the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal.
