• Serbian goalkeeper Novak Mićović, 22, makes his fourth appearance across all competitions during the 2024 campaign in tonight’s League’s Cup match against C.D. Guadalajara. Mićović made three saves in the 2-1 Leagues Cup win over the San Jose Earthquakes on July 31. Mićović has posted one shutout in two appearances for LA during the 2024 MLS Regular Season.
• Colombian defender Emiro Garces, 22, makes his first career start for the LA Galaxy in tonight’s Leagues Cup match against Chivas. Garces has made four appearances (0 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy during the 2024 campaign. At the international level, Garcés was previously called up to by the Colombian National Team for a domestic training camp back in October of 2022.
• Eriq Zavaleta makes his second start (6th appearance) across all competitions during the 2024 campaign for LA in tonight’s match against Chivas. Zavaleta, who turned 32 on Aug. 2, has tallied three goals in 23 appearances (11 starts) across all competitions for the in three seasons played (2022-Present) for the Galaxy.
• Uruguayan National Team legend Martin Cáceres makes his 16th appearance (15th start) across all competitions for LA during the 2024 campaign in tonight’s match against Chivas. Cáceres has tallied two goals and one assist in 41 appearances (39 starts) across all competitions in three seasons with the Galaxy (2022 – Present). Notably, Cáceres played in four FIFA World Cups (2010, 2014, 2018, 2022) for the Uruguayan National Team.
• John Nelson makes his seventh start (17th appearance) across all competitions during the 2024 campaign in tonight’s match against the C.D. Guadalajara. Nelson notched his first assist for LA in the 3-2 win over the Portland Timbers on July 20. The Medina, Ohio, native has recorded five assists in 86 career MLS appearances (51 starts) across six seasons played in the league (2019-24).
• Edwin Cerrillo makes his 28th appearance (21st start) across all competitions for LA this season in tonight’s Leagues Cup match against C.D. Guadalajara. Cerrillo has notched seven assists in 124 games played (90 starts) in six seasons played in MLS (2019-Present). Notably, Cerrillo ranks second in MLS behind only Darlington Nagbe (96.63%) with a 95.49% pass completion percentage (min. 800 minutes played) during the 2024 campaign.
• Gastón Brugman, who has tallied six goals and eight assists in 57 matches played (50 starts) for the Galaxy across all competitions (2022 – Present), starts in midfield in tonight’s Leagues Cup match against Chivas. Brugman makes his first start for the Galaxy since starting and tallying an assist in 90 minutes of action against Houston Dynamo FC on May 25.

• Brazilian youth international and 2024 MLS All-Star forward Gabriel Pec, 23, who has 21 goal contributions (10 goals, 11 assists) in 26 appearances (23 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy this season, starts in tonight’s Leagues Cup match against Guadalajara. In 10 matches played across all competitions dating back to June 15, Pec has totaled 13 goal contributions (6 goals, 7 assists). Pec is one of five players in MLS this year to record at least 10 goals and 10 assists (Arango, Messi, Acosta, Evander).
• Ghanian National Team forward Joseph Paintsil, who recorded a goal and two assists in the 3-2 victory against the Portland Timbers on July 20, starts up top in tonight’s match against Chivas. Paintsil has 17 goal contributions (8 goals, 9 assists) in 23 appearances (22 starts) across all competitions for the LA Galaxy this season. Notably, Paintsil has totaled six goal contributions (2 goals, 4 assists) in his last three appearances across all comps for LA dating back to July 17.
