  • Jonathan Bond, who has notched seven shutouts in league play this year, makes his 30th appearance (30th start) during the 2022 MLS Regular Season. 
  • Julián Araujo, who leads the team with seven assists this season, makes his 29th appearance (26th start) in league play this season. 
  • Uruguay National Team defender Martín Cáceres makes his second consecutive start for the Galaxy in the match against Vancouver. 
  • Playing next to Coulibaly is Derrick Williams, who makes his 25th appearance (23rd start) during the 2022 campaign. 
  • Starting at left back is Chase Gasper, who makes his first start for the Galaxy dating back to Aug. 31. 
  • Gastón Brugman gets the start as the holding midfielder. Brugman has made nine appearances (9 starts) since making his debut in a 2-0 win over Atlanta United FC on July 24. 
  • Riqui Puig makes his fifth consecutive start dating back to Aug. 28. Puig has tallied two goal and two assists in his four starts for LA.  
  • Mark Delgado, who has tallied two goals and two assists in 24 appearances (24 starts) in his first season in LA, starts in midfield. 
  • Víctor Vázquez, who tallied his fourth assist of the season in a 2-2 draw against Sporting KC on Sept. 4, starts for the 15th time this season for LA. 
  • Captaining the Galaxy is Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, who has recorded seven goals and two assists in his last seven games played dating back to Aug. 6. 
  • Kévin Cabral starts alongside Chicharito. Cabral has tallied eight goals and five assists in 60 games played (49 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy. 

Storylines:

  • LA Galaxy at Vancouver Whitecaps FC: Wednesday’s match marks the 29th MLS regular-season meeting between LA and Vancouver, with the Galaxy leading the all-time series 14-9-6. In 13 regular-season games played between the two teams at Vancouver, LA holds a 4-5-4 record. The Galaxy earned a 5-2 win at home over Vancouver in the first meeting between the two clubs this season on Aug. 13. 
  • Galaxy run of form: LA enters Saturday’s match riding a six-match unbeaten run dating back to Aug. 13. In their last six matches played dating back to Aug. 13, the Galaxy hold a record of 2-0-4, outscoring the opposition 15-11 during that span. Additionally, the Galaxy have posted a record of 1-0-2 in their last three matches played on the road. 
  • Coming from behind: Notably, LA has earned a point trailing in the 75th minute in three consecutive matches played dating back Aug. 31.
  • Chicharito in form: With his two goals scored against Sporting KC on Sept. 4, Chicharitoleads the Galaxy with 14 goals scored in 27 appearances (26 starts) in league play this season. Since Aug. 6, only Nashville SC’s Hany Mukhtar (9) and the Philadelphia Union’s Daniel Gazdag (8) has scored more goals (9) than Chicharito (7).
  • Riqui Puig en fuego: In his first four starts with the LA Galaxy (Aug. 28 – Sept. 4), Riqui Puig has tallied two goal and two assists in 360 minutes played. 
  • Notably, Dejan Joveljić leads all MLS players in goals scored as a substitute (7) this season, in addition to adding three assists off the bench.
  • Sacha Kljestan has 99 career assists in 327 MLS regular season games played (266 starts). With an assist against Toronto, the Huntington Beach, Calif., native would become just the eighth player in MLS history to register 100 career assists in league play, joining Landon Donovan (136), Steve Ralston (135), Brad Davis (123), Carlos Valderamma (114), Preki (112), Jaime Moreno (102) and Marco Etcheverry (101).
