Staff Sergeant Guo came to America in 2012 as an international student in New York, and in 2015 he joined the U.S Amy through the MAVNI Program (Military Accession Vital to National Interest) as an infantryman.
He was initially assigned to 25th Infantry Division in Alaska, and he served in a mechanized unit for over three years. Throughout this time, he earned his Expert Infantry Badge, and showed his leadership skills as a junior enlisted soldier.
With his excellent performance in Alaska, he volunteered as a paratrooper at the 82nd Airborne Division. He was assigned to 2-508 Infantry Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, and he deployed with his unit to Iraq. Throughout his time as a paratrooper, he managed to attend over eleven military schools to become a better Noncommissioned Officer in the U.S Army.
Guo was hand selected as an ambassador for the U.S Army and presents the unique side of the U.S Army for the local community. With his foreign language skills and relentless effort, he can share his personal experience as a Senior Enlisted Soldier in the Army to the local Asian Community.
