EA SPORTS™ has revealed that Alex Hunter will join the LA Galaxy and play at StubHub Center in FIFA 18 The Journey, which will feature LA Galaxy Homegrown forward Gyasi Zardes in a speaking role. Hunter, the talented young English forward, joins the Galaxy in Los Angeles after a breakout year in the Premier League last season during FIFA 17 The Journey, one of the most heralded additions to the EA SPORTS™ FIFA franchise.
“Alex Hunter signing for our team in FIFA 18 The Journey is a tribute to the LA Galaxy’s status as the flagship club in Major League Soccer,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “We are extremely excited that The Journey will showcase StubHub Center, the LA Galaxy and our homegrown talent Gyasi Zardes in such great detail as a part of FIFA 18.”
Cristiano Ronaldo leads a list of soccer stars and new characters in a star-studded cast well-suited to a blockbuster sequel of The Journey in FIFA 18, including Antoine Griezmann, Dele Alli, Thomas Müller, Thierry Henry, Rio Ferdinand, James Harden and LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes. Fans can experience The Journey in FIFA 18 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC when it launches on September 29 worldwide. Zardes, 25, grew up just miles away from StubHub Center in Hawthorne, California, before joining the LA Galaxy Academy before going on to feature for the Galaxy and U.S. Men’s National Team.
In addition to The Journey star Alex Hunter singing with the Galaxy, the game mode will feature stunning, detailed visuals of StubHub Center, one of Major League Soccer’s most iconic venues, throughout the storyline. Fans will be immersed in LA Galaxy-specific locker rooms and comprehensive stadium scenery during The Journey, with StubHub Center being featured as a playable stadium in EA SPORTS™ FIFA 18 for the PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC systems. It will mark the first soccer-specific stadium in Major League Soccer to be featured in an EA SPORTS™ FIFA franchise.
EA SPORTS™ FIFA introduced The Journey in FIFA 2017, an all-new game mode powered by Frostbite™*. Immersed in The Journey, fans live their story on and off the pitch as talented young forward Alex Hunter after a year of stardom in the Premier League last season. Fans will visit new football worlds, meet new characters full of depth, and navigate emotional highs and lows of their unique story arc through decisions off the pitch, their performance on it, and character interactions throughout the season.
