In a matchup of MLS originals, the Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy played a scoreless game all the way up until the dying moments. But the game would not end with all zeros on the scoreboard.
Marco Pappa cleanly struck a ball out of the air in the 95th minute and got it past Brian Rowe to give the home side all three points in their home opener.
Both teams struggled to create quality chances, with the Galaxy's best chance coming off a set play that resulted in Jelle Van Damme, who was making his MLS debut, hitting the crossbar for the Galaxy in the 30th minute.
