Spectrum SportsNet to air LA Galaxy’s opening match in 2016 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016) – The LA Galaxy announced today that Spectrum SportsNet will broadcast tonight’s Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs match at StubHub Center against Real Salt Lake live beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT. Spectrum SportsNet’s play-by-play announcer Joe Tutino will be on the call alongside Galaxy legend Cobi Jones, who serves as lead analyst.

Should the Galaxy advance past the Knockout Round, LA would host the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals at StubHub Center on Sunday, Oct. 30 against the Colorado Rapids.


Tonight will mark the third time that the Galaxy have faced Real Salt Lake in 2016, with LA going 1-0-1 in their previous two matchups. Most recently, the Galaxy earned a 3-3 draw on the road at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sept. 7. In their first contest of the season, the Galaxy defeated RSL 5-2 at StubHub Center on April 23.


Tonight’s game is the Galaxy’s first postseason match at StubHub Center since Dec. 7, 2014, when the Galaxy won their fifth MLS Cup trophy. That year, the Galaxy defeated Salt Lake in the MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals by an aggregate score line of 5-0.


The Galaxy have qualified for MLS Cup Playoffs in 18 of the club’s 21 seasons, earning an all-time record of 41-21-7 while winning a record five MLS Cup trophies. The Galaxy have also qualified for every MLS Cup Playoffs since 2009, marking eight-straight years.


Tonight’s match will also be broadcast live in Spanish language on UniMás.
