In support of LA Galaxy’ Community Partners in June, United Heroes League and Covenant House California, LA Galaxy Foundation will be hosting a series of in-game drives that will collect items from fans for both of LA Galaxy’s June matches: June 17 vs. Houston Dynamo and June 24 vs. Sporting KC.
The series kicks off on June 17, with the Galaxy accepting donations of soccer equipment to benefit United Heroes League, a non-profit that keeps military families healthy and active through sports by providing sports equipment, free tuition to skills camps nationwide, grants to offset league dues and tickets to professional & collegiate sporting events. At all gates, LA Galaxy will be collecting new and gently used goalie gloves, shin guards, cleats, soccer balls and socks.
Ahead of the Galaxy’s June 24 match, the club will collect toiletries to benefit Covenant House of California, an organization dedicated to serving youth experiencing homelessness by providing them with a safe environment, education, employment and, most importantly, a chance to become independent, self-sufficient adults. Items to be collected include deodorant, bar soap, body wash, shaving cream and toothpaste.
The LA Galaxy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to helping children through educational, health and soccer based initiatives and programs. For more information on the LA Galaxy Foundation, click here.
