StubHub Center, one of Major League Soccer’s most iconic venues, has hosted a league-leading six MLS Cups, most recently in 2011, 2012 and 2014, all of which were won by the LA Galaxy. Serving as the home of MLS’ most successful franchise, LA Galaxy, for 15 seasons, StubHub Center has become one of the prominent and recognizable soccer-specific venues in North America.
“We are very excited that EA SPORTS chose to make our home the first soccer-specific stadium in MLS to be featured in EA SPORTS FIFA,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “The game is incredibly popular and we are excited that our fans locally and across the world will be able to play FIFA 18 matches at StubHub Center.”
EA Vancouver began designing StubHub Center for FIFA 18 in January 2017, crafting the stunning accuracy and visuals of LA Galaxy games. Developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania, FIFA 18 will be available worldwide on September 29.
“StubHub Center’s inclusion in FIFA 18 is a testament to the hard work and investment from AEG, StubHub Center and the LA Galaxy to make this one of North America’s most prominent soccer stadiums,” said StubHub Center General Manager Katie Pandolfo. “With our venue now a part of EA SPORTS FIFA, we look forward to showing off that hard work and investment to FIFA 18 players worldwide.”
Back for FIFA 18 is Alex Hunter, the star of FIFA 17 The Journey, the popular story mode on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC game versions that lets fans play out Alex’s professional career. Hunter visited The StubHub Center in a FIFA 18 teaser released by EA SPORTS on June 10, driving speculation of Hunter’s next big career move. The Transfer Window closes at the end of this month and fans of EA SPORTS FIFA are paying close attention to the rumor mill surrounding Hunter. Watch the teaser here.
Since 2013, the LA Galaxy have invested over $35 million into StubHub Center, including the implementation of the LED video board, the addition of the all-inclusive premium club Jim Beam’s Champions Lounge and upgrades to the American Express Stadium Club. The LA Galaxy have also created new and dedicated locker rooms to house the LA Galaxy, LA Galaxy II and LA Galaxy Academy teams at StubHub Center, making the club the only in the United States that offers use of the same location and facilities for players from the youth level to the ranks of the professional first team.
