KANSAS CITY (Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017) – LA Galaxy II (7-17-5, 26 points) fell 3-0 to Swope Park Rangers (16-7-6, 54 points) on Wednesday night at Swope Park Village in Kansas City.
The Galaxy had help Swope Park Rangers off the board for the majority of the first half, but in the 37th minute, Jean Engola and Leonardo Sepulveda misplayed a longball from SPR defender Colton Storm. Kharlton Belmar had positioned himself well, allowing himself an easy path to run onto the ball before tapping it through the legs of LA Galaxy II goalkeeper Bennett Sneddon for the score.
For the second, Lebo Moloto volleyed home a picture-perfect give-and-go with Christian Duke, leaving Sneddon with practically no chance to save. Amer Didic added to the scoreline just five minutes later, heading in a corner from the center of the box with service from Felipe Hernandez.
Four LA Galaxy Academy members participated in tonight’s match: Jake Arteaga, Leonardo Sepulveda, Jorge Hernandez and Jonah Estrada.
Los Dos wrap up their Midwestern road trip when they face OKC Energy FC at 3 p.m. PT on Sunday, Oct. 1 at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City.
