The LA Galaxy have acquired a fourth round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for the rights to goalkeeper Jon Kempin, the club announced today.
The Galaxy declined Kempin’s contract option on Nov. 27 following his first season with the club. He made seven appearances – all starts – while recording 38 saves, including two shutouts.
The 2018 MLS SuperDraft will take place in Philadelphia on Friday, Jan. 19. In addition to the newly-acquired fourth round selection from Columbus Crew SC (90th overall), the LA Galaxy currently hold the second overall pick.
Kempin signed with the Galaxy ahead of the 2017 MLS Regular Season. He made seven appearances – all starts – while recording 38 saves, including two shutouts.
