CARSON, Calif. – Inclusion and community are essential tenets of the LA Galaxy’s core mission, and that is what makes Galaxy Pride Night so crucial to the club.
The club will celebrate their fifth annual Pride Night on Wednesday when they host FC Dallas. The Galaxy have held Pride Night since 2015, which is one of the longest-running Pride Nights in pro sports.
In honor of Pride Night, Galaxy Group Sales manager Michael Demko, who spearheaded the first celebration five years ago, addressed the importance of the evening.
“I couldn’t be happier to help celebrate the 5th installment of the LA Galaxy Pride Night. The support from the entire LA Galaxy front office and AEG have made this night as special as it’s become and I know it’s a night that a lot of our fans are now looking forward to each year similar to our annual 4th of July fireworks. Each year, we speak to fans on Pride Night who are at StubHub Center for the very first time.
“We believe it’s important that our Pride Night isn’t just about rainbow confetti and streamers but to celebrate the LGBTQ community in Los Angeles. This year, we have partnered with the You Can Play Project, a non-profit dedicated to eliminating homophobia in sports. A portion of every ticket sold through the Pride Night offer will be sent back to the You Can Play Project.”
