Los Dos look to expand their win streak to three after a strong performance on the road against Orange County SC. Ethan Zubak opened the scoring early with a goal in the 3rd minute after Adrian Vera threaded him a perfect through ball. LA Galaxy II scored once more before halftime after Vera was able to capitalize on an Orange County SC defensive error. He sent another perfectly time pass to Frank Lopez who was in the center of the box. Lopez calmly slotted it past the keeper to score.
Although down to 10 men opening the second half, LA Galaxy II did not let this disadvantage affect the momentum they took from first half. Los Dos found their third goal in the 52nd minute after Jon Hernandez tucked a perfectly curled ball above OC’s goalkeeper, recording his first professional goal for the team. Brian Sylvestre, Galaxy II goalkeeper, protected the lead with six crucial saves and earned his first shoutout of the year in his first appearance with the team. Both Vera and Sylvestre were named to USL’s Team of the Week for their efforts in that match.
Galaxy II face a Reno side that have secured a result in every away game this season with a record of 5-0-5 on the road. Reno 1868 FC sit 3rd in the USL Western Conference standings. Last year, LA Galaxy II found it difficult to earn a result against Reno and will look to improve upon their 0-2 record from 2017.
