Lineup Notes

  • Another Saturday night at StubHub Center as the Galaxy return home for a match against Minnesota United.

  • In net, David Bingham continues for LA after playing every single minute between the pipes in MLS play, posting six shutouts and recording over 90 saves on the year.
  • Defender Dave Romney will start his 16th game this season for the Galaxy. Since joining the club from LA Galaxy II, Romney now has made 61 MLS previous appearances.
  • In the center of defense is Michael Ciani, who returns to the XI after squad rotation from last weekend’s match in Colorado.
  • Defender Jorgen Skjelvik makes his 24th start of the season, joining David Bingham as the only two players to start in each match this year for the Galaxy.
  • On the right is the Frenchman Romain Alessandrini, who now has tallied seven goals and five assists this season. In his MLS career, he now 20 total goals.
  • In the center of the field is Perry Kitchen, who will make his 22nd start of the season for LA, the third most of any player on the team.
  • Rounding out the central midfield is Jonathan dos Santos, who makes his 14th start of the season. JDS has been in solid form since returning from World Cup action with Mexico.
  • On the left is captain Ashley Cole, who is tied for the lead in assists this year for the Galaxy with six on the season, which is the most assists of any defender in MLS.
  • Pulling the strings on offense is Giovani dos Santos, who returns to the lineup after missing last weekend’s match in Colorado. In all, Gio has 26 goals and 22 assists since joining LA, and scored in his last game at StubHub Center.
  • Up top is the workhorse Ola Kamara, who has demonstrated his quality this year that has made him one of the most dangerous goal scoring threats in MLS over the last three years. In all, Kamara now has 43 total goals in three years in MLS.
  • Up top is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a good player.

Game Notes

  • All time, LA are 2-0-0 against Minnesota United, winning both contests during Minnesota’s inaugural season last year.

Quick Hits

I'm Gonna Be (500 Goals) Lyrics - The Proclaimers

When I wake up, well I know I'm gonna be,

I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next you

When I go out, yeah I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you

If I get drunk, well I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you

And if I haver up, yeah I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you

But I would score 500 goals

And I would score 500 more

Just to be the man who scores 1,000 goals

To fall down at your door

When I'm working, yes I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you

And when the money, comes in for the work I do

I'll pass almost every penny on to you

When I come home (when I come home) well I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you

And if I grow-old (when I grow-old) well I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you

But I would score 500 goals

And I would score 500 more

Just to be the man who scores 1,000 goals

To fall down at your door
