LOS ANGELES (Friday, April 26, 2019) – LA Galaxy midfielder Romain Alessandrini has undergone successful meniscus root repair at the Cedars Sinaï Kerlan Jobe Institute in Santa Monica, the club announced today. He is expected to be out until September following the surgery, which was performed by Bert Mandelbaum and Clint Soppe.
Alessandrini, 30, suffered the injury during the LA Galaxy match vs. the Houston Dynamo on April 19. He originally signed with the club ahead of the 2017 season, and has since made 61 appearances while scoring 24 goals and adding 22 assists.
The Galaxy return to MLS action this Sunday, April 28 at 5 p.m. PT against Real Salt Lake live on Spectrum SportsNet.
