LOS ANGELES -- The LA Galaxy selected Akron defender Tom Smart with the 45th overall selection in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
Smart, a left-back from Birmingham, England, spent one season at Akron making eight appearances for the Zips. Prior to his time with Akron, he spent four years at the University of New Mexico.
The Galaxy have 71st overall and 81st overall selections in the third and fourth rounds.
