LOS ANGELES (Monday, March 9, 2020) – The LA Galaxy will continue the 2020 season this weekend on the road with a match against Inter Miami FC at Inter Miami FC Stadium scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 11:30 a.m. PT live on FOX. Inter Miami FC will host their 2020 MLS inaugural season home opener and will face David Beckham’s former team, the LA Galaxy, for the first time in club history.
In their home-opening match of the 2020 season, the LA Galaxy fell to Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Captain Jonathan dos Santos saw action for the first time during the 2020 regular season after coming back from a mild groin injury. Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez also made his home debut to a sold-out crowd. The LA Galaxy are now 0-1-1 in the 2020 regular season and 0-0-1 on the road.
The LA Galaxy will host a watch party this Saturday, March 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park’s Legends Plaza for the club’s contest against Inter Miami CF, with kickoff set for 11:30 a.m. PT.
Saturday’s Watch Party at Legends Plaza will open at 10:30 a.m. PT, with free parking available in Lot 10. In addition to the LA Galaxy Team Store being open, various food and beverages will be available for purchase, including $5 for Modelo and $8 for a Michelada. All fans are encouraged to bring their own seating to the event, which will have DJ Fuze, Cozmo and the Star Squad on site. No outside alcoholic beverages will be prohibited.
LA GALAXY II 2020 USL CHAMPIONSHIP HOME OPENER
LA Galaxy II kicked-off the 2020 USL Championship season with an incredible 5-1 road win Sunday night against Rio Grande Valley FC. Kai Koreniuk led the match and LA Galaxy II in goals, tying his all-time USL Championships career high of two goals, previously achieved twice during the 2019 season. LA Galaxy Academy standouts Cameron Dunbar and Jonathan Perez both made their first USL Championships appearance along with Dunbar scoring his first career goal. LA Galaxy II are now 1-0-0 to begin the 2020 season and 1-0-0 on the road.
LA Galaxy II, led by head coach Junior Gonzalez, are scheduled to make their 2020 USL Championship home debut on Friday, March 13 when they host Austin Bold FC at Dignity Health Sports Park. The 2020 season will mark the seventh year in LA Galaxy II history.
