LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, April 7, 2021) - LA Galaxy II announced today that the club has signed forward Preston Judd. Judd, 21, was originally signed by Sporting Kansas City II prior to being selected by the LA Galaxy in the second round of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft. Judd will officially be added to the LA Galaxy II roster pending league and federation approval.
“Preston is an attacking player who will add depth to the LA Galaxy II offense,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “We look forward to his continued development within the organization and are excited to see his contributions to the LA Galaxy II in the upcoming season.”
Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Judd signed his first professional contract with Sporting Kansas City II in January 2021. He was selected 35th overall by the LA Galaxy in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft.
Judd played one season at the University of Denver, where he led the team with seven goals and one assist in 19 appearances, while earning 2019 Summit League All-Newcomer Team and 2019 Summit League Tournament MVP honors. Prior to his time at Denver, he spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career with California Baptist University, recording 22 goals and four assists in 39 games.
Judd graduated from Coronado High School in Henderson, Nevada in 2017, where he recorded 29 goals and 23 assists while captaining the Cougars during his senior year.
LA Galaxy II will host their home opener for the 2021 USL Championship season against Sacramento Republic FC on Friday, April 30 at Dignity Health Sports Park. The 2021 season will mark the eighth year in LA Galaxy history.
