LOS ANGELES (Monday, April 26, 2021) - LA Galaxy II announced today that the club has signed defender Josh Drack. Drack, 21, was selected by the LA Galaxy in the first round of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft.
“Drack is a talented player who will bring versatility to the LA Galaxy II defense,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “I am very pleased with the effort of our scouting that was done before the Super Draft by everyone involved to identify and select Josh. We look forward to his immediate contribution with LA Galaxy II and are excited to see his professional growth within our organization.”
The Chandler, Arizona, native spent one year at the University of Denver, where he recorded five goals and three assists in 21 games, while earning a 2019 Summit League Second Team selection.
Prior to playing at the University of Denver, Drack played at Grand Canyon University from 2017-18, tallying six goals and adding seven assists, earning 2017 Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year.
Drack graduated from Hamilton High School in Chandler in Arizona in 2017, where he recorded 65 goals and 32 assists in two seasons while captaining the Huskies. In his junior year, Drack led his team to the state championship in 2016, while earning 2016 Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year. In between his junior and senior years, Drack trained with the Portland Timbers Academy.
LA Galaxy II will host their home opener for the 2021 USL Championship season against Sacramento Republic FC on Friday, April 30 at Dignity Health Sports Park. The 2021 season will mark the eighth year in LA Galaxy history.
