LOS ANGELES (Friday, March 24, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has signed goalkeeper Aaron Cervantes to a short-term loan from MLS NEXT Pro affiliate LA Galaxy II.
Cervantes, 21, joins the Galaxy after being signed to the club’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate LA Galaxy II. The Chino Hills, Calif., native is a product of the LA Galaxy Academy and made his professional debut with Orange County SC during the 2019 USL Championship Regular Season, when he logged three shutouts in 11 appearances. The following season in 2020, Cervantes posted two shutouts in six regular-season appearances for Orange County, before being transferred to Rangers F.C. of the Scottish Premier League. At the youth international level, Cervantes represented the U.S. Men’s Youth National Team at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
Per MLS rules, the Short-Term Contract allows clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League and exhibition matches. A player can sign a maximum of four Short-Term Contracts per season and appear in no more than two league season matches.
