The LA Galaxy Academy Under-16 team kicked off Group B of the 2016-16 Generation adidas Cup Finals' Championship Division play today. The U-16's first game of the tournament was against the New York Red Bulls Under-16 team.
The two sides played to heated stalemate, swapping a goal each in the 1-1 draw after a full 90 minutes of play. The Galaxy's lone goal was scored by Jonah Estrada.
The Galaxy then went on to defeat the Red Bulls in penalty kicks and earned two out of a possible three points.
The Galaxy's U-16 team will now turn their attention to Aspire Academy who they will face on Sunday.
