Giovani and Jona dos Santos' Mexico prepare for 2018 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 clash with Neymar and Brazil

Giovani and Jonathan dos Santos’ Mexico will look to make history on Monday when El Tri take on Brazil (7am PT, FOX/Telemundo) in their 2018 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match.

Mexico has qualified for the Round of 16 in each of their last seven tournament appearances, but have failed to reach the quarterfinals since they hosted the tournament in 1986. After earning two wins in the group stage, which included a famous 1-0 win over Germany, El Tri head coach Juan Carlos Osorio is confident heading into their match against the tournament favorites.

"Tomorrow we'll try to dispute possession, we have midfielders with a lot of talent and we can utilize numeric superiority to keep the ball," said Osorio in Sunday's news conference.

"It is a titanic task against a great team, but we will try and when we can attack, with the game showing whether we can elaborate [plays] or counter-attack. But the idea is not to park the bus because Brazil has a lot of quality in the last third and they score goals, as they've shown against teams that have sat back.”

Osorio will be forced to make at least one change to the squad that fell 3-0 to Sweden with defender Hector Moreno suspended due to yellow card accumulation.
