LA Galaxy Homegrown Player Gyasi Zardes has been nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 23 for his 49th minute volley in Saturday’s match against the Columbus Crew.
Zardes scored for the Galaxy shortly after halftime, volleying a ball past Columbus goalkeeper Steve Clark in the 49th minute. Right back Dan Gargan whipped in a cross to Zardes, who hit a one-touch volley with his right foot from inside the 18 that flew into the right side of the net. It was the forward’s 10th goal of the year and his ninth in the past 10 games.
Zardes is up against Fabian Castillo (FCD), Gilberto (TFC), Justin Meram (CLB) and Dillon Serna (COL).
