CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, May 7, 2015) – The LA Galaxy Academy Under-14 will host Albion SC Academy U-14 at StubHub Center’s Field 5 on Saturday, May 9 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action. A day later, the LA Galaxy Academy Under-18 and Under-16 will travel to Costa Mesa, Calif. to face the Pateadores Academy at Vanguard University on Sunday, May 10.
The Galaxy Academy U-14’s are set to host Albion SC on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. PT at StubHub Center’s Field 5. The Galaxy Academy U-14’s defeated Albion SC 4-2 in their last encounter, as three different Galaxy U-14 players found the back of the net to propel the Galaxy to victory.
The Galaxy Academy U-18’s (19-8-5 overall, 62 pts.) will kick off Sunday’s action at 10 a.m. PT, when they face the Pateadores Academy U-18’s (19-6-7 overall, 64 pts.) at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa. In the last encounter between both U-18 sides, the Galaxy was able to secure the 1-0 victory at home, with Ethan Zubak’s goal in the 11th minute of play.
The doubleheader at Vanguard University will wrap up at 12:30 p.m. PT, as the first place Galaxy Academy U-16’s (21-4-7 overall, 70 pts.) take on Pateadores Academy U-16’s (13-12-7 overall, 46 pts.). In the last meeting between the clubs back in March, the Galaxy U-16’s shutout Pateadores 2-0 at StubHub Center as Sam Hefter and Salvador Segura tallied for the Galaxy U-16’s to secure the win.

BRADFORD JAMIESON IV NAMED TO USMNT 2015 FIFA U-20 WORLD CUP ROSTER: The LA Galaxy announced today that Homegrown Player Bradford Jamieson IV has been named by head coach Tab Ramos to the U.S. Men’s National Team Under-20 roster for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Jamieson IV, 18, earns the call up after helping the U-20’s qualify for the World Cup earlier this year.
The U.S. will play in three matches during the group stage when they face the national teams of Myanmar (May 30), New Zealand (June 2) and Ukraine (June 5). All matches will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports Go and NBC Universo. Should the U.S. advance, the team would play until eliminated, with the final being held June 20.
Jamieson IV has represented the U.S. U-20 squad various times during 2014 and 2015, most recently helping the U-20’s qualify for the 2015 U-20 FIFA World Cup earlier this year. As a 17 year old, Jamieson IV notched his first MLS appearance last season, recording an assist when the Galaxy faced Sporting KC on the road July 19. He also featured extensively for LA Galaxy II in USL PRO last season, scoring six goals in his 18 appearances, on his way to becoming a finalist for the USL PRO Rookie of the Year award.
This season, Jamieson IV has become a regular contributor for the Galaxy, starting in the last four matches and earning a goal on the road against the New York Red Bulls in his second-ever MLS start.
LA GALAXY HOST SUEÑO MLS THIS WEEKEND: The dream continues this weekend for more than 400 aspiring young soccer players as Sueño MLS 2015 – Presented by Allstate Insurance Company, the nationally-televised player search, moves to Southern California with tryouts May 9-10 at the Bell Gardens Sports Center in Bell Gardens, Calif., hosted by the LA Galaxy. While pre-registration for the LA Galaxy event is full, players are encouraged to sign up in person for the “walk-up” list starting Saturday, May 9 at 7:30 a.m. PT. LA Galaxy midfielder Jose Villareal and Mexican goalkeeper legend Martin Zuñiga are scheduled to appear.
GALAXY ACADEMY TRIO HELP LEAD U.S. U-15 SQUAD TO TOURNAMENT DELLE NAZIONI TITLE: LA Galaxy II goalkeeper Eric Lopez earned Goalkeeper of the tournament honors as the U.S Under-15's won the prestigious Tournament delle Nazioni last Friday with a 3-2 win over Austria. Andrew Carleton scored twice for the Americans in the first half before Tim Weah scored the tournament winner to give the U.S. U-15's the victory on Friday in Gradisca d'Isonzo, Italy. The U.S. qualified for the final by defeating host nation Italy in a penalty kick shootout that featured a save from Lopez to help the Americans best the Italian U-15 squad. Joining Lopez on the U.S. U-15 squad were fellow Galaxy Academy players, Zico Bailey and defender Jake Arteaga.
