LA Galaxy Academy U-18’s set to battle Chivas Guadalajara in final match of Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup group play

CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, April 15, 2014) – The LA Galaxy Academy Under-18’s will take on Chivas Guadalajara of Mexico as they conclude Bracket B play in the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup on Wednesday, April 16 at the Cotton Bowl at 3:00 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcasted on Time Warner Cable Deportes at 8:30 p.m. PT.


The LA Galaxy U-18’s dropped a 2-0 loss to the Fluminense U-20’s on Monday morning as forward Matheus Alessandro and midfielder Ikaro each scored to give the Brazilian side the victory.


With the loss, the Galaxy U-18’s sit in third place of Bracket B in theGordon Jago Super Group with one point and will need a win against Chivas if they hope to advance to the semifinal round. The groups and standings can be found here.


LA Galaxy Homegrown Players Jack McBean, Bradford Jamieson IV and Oscar Sorto led the Galaxy U-18’s in the team’s hard-fought 1-1 draw against the RSC Anderlecht U-19 side on Sunday morning in their first game of the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup. Jamieson IV scored his team’s lone goal off a McBean assist at the 25th minute of the match as the Galaxy U-18’s took their first point of the tournament.

LA GALAXY ACADEMY U-16 FALL 2-0 TO STOKE CITY: The LA Galaxy U-16’s fell 2-0 to Stoke City in the first game played by a foreign club in Generation adidas Cup history on Monday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, Stoke City defender Lewis Banks capitalized on a loose ball following a corner kick in the 37th minute, striking a left-footed shot into the back of the net from the top of the penalty area. Banks then helped Stoke put the game away in the 62nd minute with a goal from forward Charles Weston-Hayles. The Galaxy U-16’s return to action on today when they face Toronto FC at Toyota Soccer Center’s Field 8 at 2 p.m. PT. The U-16’s will then face the Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy U-17’s on Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m. on Field 8.
