On Wednesday July 24th, the LA Galaxy Foundation hosted a community clinic at Boys & Girls Club, Carson for youth ages ten to 14.
On this warm afternoon, all youth received a LA Galaxy t-shirt and hat to keep cool while participating in soccer programming. LA Galaxy coaches set up three stations where youth practiced passing, shooting and scrimmaging. In addition, LA Galaxy Star Squad held target practice, awarding winners for their aim.
As a bridge to the physical nature of sports, Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) taught the kids about sportsmanship and the psychological side of soccer. Members of the Boys & Girls Club of Carson were tested on their ability to motivate their peers through a series of clapping and encouragement exercises.
A day of soccer done, the LA Galaxy donated ten soccer balls to keep the game going at the Boys & Girls Club.
Throughout the 2019 LA Galaxy MLS soccer season, the LA Galaxy Community Clinic Series will continue to provide local youth with the opportunity to participate in soccer programming in the Los Angeles community.
