CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, April 8, 2015) – The LA Galaxy’s 20 for Twenty program will continue this week with a Heal the Bay Beach Clean-Up Day at Redondo Beach on Friday, April 10 from 1-4 p.m. PT. LA Galaxy players, technical staff and front office along with StubHub Center staff will volunteer during the clean-up and the event is open to all Galaxy fans.
LA Galaxy players AJ DeLaGarza, Alan Gordon, Gyasi Zardes, Todd Dunivant, Tommy Meyer, Baggio Husidic and others are all scheduled to attend in addition to Galaxy mascot Cozmo and the Galaxy Star Squad. All volunteers will help clean the beach and surrounding area from trash and honor debris in honor of Earth Day.

Whole Foods Market Torrance will provide water and snacks for all volunteers throughout the day.
Throughout the event, Galaxy Star Squad will host Galaxy giveaways and other interactive games for volunteers to participate in. The Star Squad will have LA Galaxy Blue on Blue calendars featuring LA Galaxy players in the team’s 2015 secondary kit available for sale at the event, with all proceeds benefitting the LA Galaxy Foundation.
20 for Twenty is a year-long initiative that will see the implementation of 20 unique community service acts to celebrate the Galaxy’s 20th season in Major League Soccer. The Galaxy Foundation has previously hosted a Build Day with Habitat of Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, participated in Read Across America and visited partners CHLA.
Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean. They use science, education, community action and advocacy to pursue their mission.
