CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Sept. 15, 2014) – The LA Galaxy (14-5-9, 51 points) will face FC Dallas (13-9-6, 45 points) this Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. PT live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes in Week 28 of the Major League Soccer Regular Season.
Bruce Arena’s side has lost just twice in the past 20 matches and is unbeaten in their past seven games. The Galaxy have scored the most goals in MLS this season with 57 and have also allowed the fewest goals this year with 30, giving them an MLS best +27 goal differential.
The Galaxy will face FC Dallas for the second of three times this year. In the first matchup on May 21, the Galaxy earned a 2-1 victory behind goals from Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes. All time, the Galaxy have a 19-13-9 record against Dallas, having scored 67 goals and adding 57 assists.
Forward Landon Donovan and defender Dan Gargan will be available against Dallas after returning from suspensions. Additionally, goalkeeper Jaime Penedo will be available for selection after leading his native Panama to a third place finish in the UNCAF Copa Centroamericano. Donovan has recorded seven assists in his last four games and with 132 career assists, he is just three shy of tying the MLS record of 135. He also leads MLS in assists with 15 this year, with teammate Robbie Keane second with 13. LA Galaxy Homegrown Player Gyasi Zardes has now recorded 15 goals this year, leading all Americans in scoring while extending a Homegrown Player record for goals scored in a season.
