LA Galaxy to host PSA Elite June 17 in U.S. Open Cup

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, May 28, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will face PSA Elite (USASA) in a 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup fourth round matchup on Wednesday, June 17 at StubHub Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT. Tickets for the match will go on sale in June at www.lagalaxy.com/tickets for $10.


The Galaxy’s Open Cup contest at StubHub Center will feature free parking, $2 tacos from Chancho’s Tacos, $2 beer and $5 tickets for LA Galaxy Season Ticket Members.


The Galaxy face the United States Adult Soccer Association side after they defeated the Ventura County Fusion 2-1 Wednesday night in the tournament's third round. The game will mark the first time since 2010 that the Galaxy have hosted a U.S. Open Cup match. The team has fallen on the road to the Carolina Railhawks in each of the past three years.


The Galaxy have recorded a 25-14-1 all-time record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. They have entered the Open Cup every year since 1999, winning the tournament in 2001 and 2005 while reaching the Open Cup Final on two other occasions.


The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for 101 consecutive years dating from 1914. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
