LA Galaxy host women’s soccer clinic through 20 For Twenty

In continuation of the LA Galaxy's 20 for Twenty community program, the LA Galaxy hosted the first-ever LA Galaxy Women’s Soccer Clinic at StubHub Center before the U.S. Women’s National Team match against Mexico on Sunday, May 17. The women’s clinic featured different activities designed to promote the power of women in sports.

Attended by various high school girls from the local community, the event included a skills clinic, nutrition talk, coaching workshop and a question and answer session with former USWNT star Julie Foudy, among other activities. In addition, LA Galaxy community partner, Herbalife was on hand to provide gift bags for all participants, and Herbalife Manager of Sports Performance and Education, Dana Ryan, discussed the importance of well-balanced nutrition for athletes. The day at StubHub Center highlighted the significance of women in sports as participants in the clinic also enjoyed the USWNT’s 5-1 win over Mexico following the event.

The Women’s Soccer Clinic is also in conjunction with MLS WORKS’ Don’t Cross the Line platform as the LA Galaxy are committed to showcase female athletes throughout the year in support of the initiative. Don’t Cross the Line promotes unity, respect, fair play, equality and acceptance throughout soccer communities of Major League Soccer.

During the event, WholeFoods Market Torrance provided donated meals to all participants.
