(Monday, April 27, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will train this week ahead of an MLS Regular Season matchup this Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. PT against the Colorado Rapids at StubHub Center (TV: Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Time Warner Cable Deportes; Radio: The Beast 980 and ESPN Deportes 1330 AM). LA Galaxy II will host Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium Sunday at 5 p.m. PT.

The Galaxy (3-2-3, 11 points) are 34-24-7 against Colorado all time in their 65 regular season meetings, scoring 104 goals in those matchups. At home, the Galaxy have compiled a 23-7-2 record against the Rapids. In their last meeting, the Galaxy earned a 6-0 victory over the Rapids at StubHub Center last year behind two goals each from Landon Donovan, Gyasi Zardes and Baggio Husidic. Saturday’s match marks the first of two times the teams face off this season, with the second meeting coming Saturday, Aug. 1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The match will also see the return of former Galaxy midfielder Marcelo Sarvas, who made 94 appearances for the club in three seasons, helping capture two MLS Cups (2012, 2014).
LA will enter Saturday’s game with a 26-game unbeaten streak at StubHub Center in all competitions (MLS Regular Season, MLS Cup Playoffs, CONCACAF Champions’ League). During the unbeaten streak at StubHub Center (including away matches against Chivas USA on April 6, 2014 & August 31, 2014), the Galaxy have outscored opponents 63-17 for a +46 goal differential.
The Galaxy earned a draw with the New York Red Bulls on the road Sunday at Red Bull Arena, as a goal from 18-year-old Bradford Jamieson IV gave LA a point on the afternoon. With his goal, the Galaxy Homegrown Player became the second-youngest player to ever score for the club, only behind fellow Homegrown Player Jack McBean.
