CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, April 14, 2015) – LA Galaxy players visited patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon.
Galaxy players A.J. DeLaGarza, Tommy Meyer, Dan Gargan, Todd Dunivant, Brian Rowe and Trey Mitchell all attended the visit Tuesday, greeting patients in their rooms and presenting each patient with a replica of the 2014 MLS Cup championship ring, which were handed out during Sunday’s match against Seattle Sounders FC.
The visit Tuesday was part of a long-standing relationship between the LA Galaxy, LA Galaxy Foundation and CHLA, who have been partners for several years. In addition to the player visit, LA Galaxy staff volunteered last month and the team will host the CHLA sports medicine conference at StubHub Center on Sept. 12. Additionally, the Galaxy staff will participate in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on Sept. 20 to help raise funds for pediatric cancer awareness. The LA Galaxy Foundation has funded Sports Medicine program over the last two years, which is the only pediatric sports medicine facility in Southern California.
