NEW YORK (October 14, 2014) – Today, in association with Copper Pot Pictures, Major League Soccer released and the LA Galaxy the first of a six-part mini-documentary series entitled, Landon Donovan: LegenD. Each episode highlights a theme from Landon Donovan’s unparalleled career, with one premiering each day ahead of his final regular season home game (LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders FC, Sunday, Oct. 19 at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN2).

The stories are told by people with firsthand knowledge of Donovan’s rise to greatness, including: Bruce Arena, Tim Cahill, Todd Dunivant, John Ellinger, Julie Foudy, Chris Klein, David Moyes, Richard Motzkin, Paul Pabst, Rob Stone, Taylor Twellman, and Grant Wahl.
Copper Pot Pictures previously produced documentaries, “We Must Go,” about Bob Bradley as Egypt’s national team coach, and “Kei,” about Sierra Leone and Columbus Crew forward Kei Kamara.
Donovan announced Aug. 7 that this year would be his last as a professional soccer player, and he made his final U.S. Men’s National Team appearance Oct. 10. Among his many MLS records, Donovan is the all-time leader in regular season goals (144), regular season assists (136), playoff goals (22), playoff assists (12), game-winning goals (41), game-winning assists (41), and he is tied with Jeff Agoos and Brian Mullan for the most MLS Cup titles (5) won by a single player.
