Landon Donovan has been voted the Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month for August.
In August, Donovan scored three goals and added six assists in his seven appearances, leading the Galaxy to a 5-1-1 record. Donovan played a part in the winning goal for all five victories in August, registering two game-winning goals and adding three game-winning assists.
The MLS leading goal scorer now has recorded 129 assists in his career, putting him six shy of Steve Ralston's MLS record of 135.
With 30.01% of votes, Donovan beat out D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid (24.68%), Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux (18.83%), FC Dallas midfielder Fabian Castillo (17.77%) and LA Galaxy teammate Robbie Keane (7.71%).
