Ahead of the 2024 Generation adidas Cup in Bradenton Fla., from March 30 – April 7, the LA Galaxy Academy had nine players called to their respective nations for international duty during the month of March.
The U-15 Mexican Youth National Team called defender Enrique Salazar III was called into a domestic training camp from March 3-7. The U.S. U-17 Men’s Youth National Team called in defenders Harbor Miller and Jose “Pepe” Magana and forward Ruben Ramos Jr. into a domestic training camp from March 10-15. From March 12 – 18, LA Galaxy Academy forwards Juan Martinez Jr. and Ikenna Chidebe and midfielders Vicente Garcia and Elliott Jahng were called into the U.S. Soccer Boys U-14 National ID Camp in Atlanta, Ga. LA Galaxy Academy forward Olawande Esan was originally called into the U-14 U.S. Boys National ID Camp, but missed out due to injury. Lastly, Juan Martinez Jr., Vicente Garcia and Enrique Salazar III were each called into the U-15 Mexican National Team for the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) held in Spain from March 22 – April 1.
As previously announced, the LA Galaxy Academy U-15s and U-17s will compete in the 2024 Generation adidas Cup in Bradenton, Fla., from March 30 – April 7. The premier international youth tournament will feature representation from every MLS academy and 49 different club academies from a record-breaking 15 countries spanning four different continents.
The LA Galaxy Academy U-15s are placed in Group H alongside the Colombus Crew, Toronto FC and C.F. Monterrey. The U-17s will compete in Group J against the New York Red Bulls, Orlando City and C.F. Monterrey. The Galaxy Academy’s U-15s will play against the Columbus Crew on Saturday, March 30 (6:00 a.m. PT), take on C.F Monterrey on Sunday, March 31 (6:00 a.m. PT) and will close out group play against Toronto FC on Monday, April 1 (6:00 a.m. PT). LA’s U-17s will play against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, March 30 (11:00 a.m. PT), take on C.F Monterrey on Sunday, March 31 (11:00 a.m. PT) and will close out group play against Orlando City SC on Monday, April 1 (11:00 a.m. PT).
