LA Galaxy forwards Robbie Keane and Alan Gordon have been nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 30 for their goals against Toronto FC on Saturday.
Minutes after scoring the game’s opening goal, Keane doubled the score with a clinical one-touch volley in the 25th minute to score his 19th of the season. Landon Donovan played defender A.J. DeLaGarza in on the right side before he sent a cross into the 18-yard box. Keane sprinted towards the oncoming ball and hit a blistering one-touch side volley into the corner of the net and past a helpless Joe Bendik.
Gordon’s tally came in stoppage time, as the veteran forward scored the game’s third goal to seal the victory. Gordon ripped a shot from 25 yards that curved into the far-side of the net as a diving Bendik was unable to get a finger on it.
Keane and Gordon go up against Sebastian Fernandez (VAN), Obafemi Martins (SEA) and Robert Earnshaw (TOR).
