CARSON, Calif. (Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014) – LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane will return to the LA Galaxy from international duty with the Republic of Ireland. Keane will train with LA this week and be available for selection when the Galaxy take on Seattle Sounders FC at StubHub Center in the first leg of the Western Conference Championship Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. PT live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
Keane was called up to Ireland for a EURO 2016 qualifying match against Scotland on Friday with the Galaxy captain entering the match in the 78th minute in Ireland’s 1-0 loss. Keane departs ahead of Ireland’s match with the U.S. Men’s National Team in Dublin this Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 11:45 p.m. PT.
Keane, 34, is Ireland’s captain and all-time leading goal scorer with 65 goals. In MLS play, Keane led the Galaxy this season with 19 goals during the MLS Regular Season in addition to his 14 assists.
Following the Galaxy’s match Sunday, LA will travel north for the second leg of the Western Conference Championship when they face the Sounders on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. PT live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
