CARSON, Calif. – To further encourage LA Galaxy player development and provide additional growth opportunities, players from LA Galaxy Alliance Clubs were invited to the LA Galaxy Alliance Training Center Program at StubHub Center.
Under the direction of LA Galaxy Youth Technical Manager Jamie Harvey and LA Galaxy Technical Consultant Matt Tutton, top players from 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 age groups participated in the LA Galaxy Alliance Training Center Program.
The training sessions were designed to expose players to LA Galaxy Academy culture and surround them with top players within their respective age groups.
“The program has been a great opportunity to observe the talent at the alliance clubs and provide the players and staff an inside look at how the academy works,” Harvey said. “They experience the culture and the competitive expectations. I feel the program is crucial in the LA Galaxy player pathway and beneficial to all.”
Participating players from the first series of training sessions were selected from:
- LA Galaxy San Diego
- LA Galaxy Conejo Valley
- LA Galaxy Orange County
- LA Galaxy Bakersfield
“All of our LA Galaxy OC players have thoroughly enjoyed the experience training under the guidance of Youth Technical Manager Jamie Harvey at the StubHub Center, and we are looking forward to additional training to be held throughout the year,” said LA Galaxy Orange County Technical Director Scott Hamilton said.
More training sessions will be held throughout 2018 with further involvement from Galaxy Alliance Clubs.
"We want to support our LA Galaxy members with real opportunities for development and growth,” said Tutton. “Our training centers do this by creating a powerful way to unify our LA Galaxy Academy Staff and our LA Galaxy Alliance Club members. The response to our first set of events has been extremely well received."
