- Mexican National Team defender Julián Araujo starts at right back. A first time MLS All-Star in 2021, Araujo led the Galaxy with seven assists in 32 games played (32 starts)
- Playing in the heart of defense is Séga Coulibaly, who made 19 appearances (17 starts) in his first season with the Galaxy last year. .
- Next to Coulibaly is Nick DePuy, who made a career-high 25 appearances (18 starts) and added an assist in his second season in LA in 2021.
- Playing at left back is Raheem Edwards, who makes his debut for the Galaxy. Edwards registered two assists in 27 games played (15 starts) for LAFC during the 2021 MLS regular season.
- Mark Delgado makes his debut for the Galaxy in midfield. The 26-year-old has tallied 17 goals and 24 assists in 218 regular-season appearances (187 starts) in his 10-year career in MLS.
- Next to Delgado is Rayan Raveloson, who ranked tied for second on the team in goals scored (5) and added one assist in 22 games played (22 starts) in his first season in LA last year.
- Appearing on the right wing and making his debut for the Galaxy is new Designated Player Douglas Costa. The Brazilian international midfielder joins LA with over with over 400 professional appearances and 21 trophies won in the top leagues of Brazil, Germany, Italy and Ukraine since making his professional debut in 2008 for Grêmio
- Playing as the attacking midfielder is Víctor Vázquez, who lead LA with 60 chances created and added three goals and six assists in 28 games played (21 starts) in his first season with the Galaxy.
- Playing on the left wing is Young Designated Player Kévin Cabral, who ranked tied for second on the team with five goals and chipped in with two assists in 28 appearances (24 starts) in his first season with the Galaxy in 2021.
- Starting up top and captaining the Galaxy is Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, who ranked tied for third in MLS with 17 goals last season. Chicharito’s 16 non-penalty goals in 2021 ranked tied for the most in MLS with Sporting KC’s Daniel Salloi, RSL’s Damir Kreilach and New England’s Adam Buksa.
