CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano and members of all three LA Galaxy supporters groups provide the Three Points to LA’s 3-0 victory over Chivas USA in the final edition of the SuperClasico.
GYASI ZARDES PUTS THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN WITH A BRACE AGAINST CHIVAS
After going three matches without a goal, Gyasi Zardes returned to the score sheet with vengeance as he scored twice in LA’s 3-0 victory over the Rojiblancos.
Zardes opened the scoring in the 41st minute with a one-time shot that sailed past Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy to open the scoring for the Galaxy. The 22-year-old rounded out the scoring in the 71st minute by tapping in a Landon Donovan cross to seal the win. Zardes is now the top scoring American in MLS with 12 goals during the 2014 campaign.

THE RETURN OF THE KEANE
It couldn’t be a SuperClasico without a goal from LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane and the Irishman scored a peach to help seal LA’s victory.
The goal came in the 66th minute, less than 10 minutes after the Irishman was subbed into the match, when some fancy footwork allowed Keane to nutmeg Chivas USA defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado before he blasted a chip shot over Dan Kennedy for the exclamation point goal. Following the goal, even Bruce Arena offered a bow to Keane for his stunning finish. Keane’s strike is his sixth goal in his career against the Rojiblancos and his eight tally all-time in the black kits LA donned on Sunday.

GALAXY END THE SUPERCLASICO ERA IN STYLE WITH A DOMINATING VICTORY
The final edition of the SuperClasico ended as so many earlier LA Galaxy games ended—with a comprehensive victory for LA.
The Galaxy dominated the match from the opening whistle on both sides of the ball as they limited Chivas to just two shots while notching three goals. With the victory in front of a pro-Galaxy crowd, LA finish the SuperClasico era with a 20-4-7 record against their rivals from across the hall.
One question remains— just what lies ahead in this rivalry? First things first, a new name is a good start. May I suggest the Clasico Angeleno?
