Jeff Larentowicz

The LA Galaxy signed the free-agent midfielder Jeff Larentowicz in January of 2016. The veteran joined LA after 11 seasons in Major League Soccer with the New England Revolution, Colorado Rapids and Chicago Fire, winning an MLS Cup in 2010.

MLS Highlights

2016: After making his 300th MLS appearance with Chicago Fire just a year earlier, Larentowicz made 23 appearances and 17 starts in his first season with LA Galaxy. With injuries in the lineup, Larentowicz was able to stay healthy and proved a reliable option for Arena in the midfield. Larentowicz recorded one goal and one assist on the season and was named to MLS Team of the Week once.

Larentowicz has made over 300 MLS Regular Season appearances, scoring 37 goals and adding 18 assists from the midfield position. Throughout his 11-year MLS career, he has captured an MLS Cup (2010) in addition to winning a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (2007), three MLS Eastern Conference titles (2006, 2007, 2008), and an MLS Western Conference title (2010). Additionally, he has led his team to the MLS Cup Playoffs in seven years of his career, making 19 postseason appearances.

The West Chester, Pennsylvania, product was selected by the New England Revolution in the fourth round of the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft from Brown University. In five years with New England, the midfielder made 111 appearances and led the team to three-straight MLS Cup appearances and earned a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championship before moving to the Colorado Rapids in 2009. He won the 2010 MLS Cup title and moved to the Chicago Fire in 2012, where he served as the team’s captain for three seasons.

National Team: the midfielder has made three appearances for the U.S. Men’s National Team and has earned multiple call ups to USMNT camps. He made his U.S. debut on Jan. 22 in 2011 against Chile at StubHub Center, formerly the Home Depot Center.

University: At Brown University, Larentowicz made 66 appearances during his four years, scoring seven goals and recording six assists. He led Brown to two Ivy-League Championships while earning honors as a Second-Team NSCAA All-American and a four-time All-Ivy League selection.

Personal: Born in Pasadena, California, Larentowicz grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where he attended Chestnut Hill Academy and won Interacademic League championships in 2000 and 2001. Additionally, he captained FC Delco to USYSA National Championships in 2002 and 2003.
